How to format the memory card in dashcam?

Make sure the memory card is inserted into the dash cam while it is powered off.
After powering on, pause the recording.
1. Option ①: Tap the menu icon on the screen.
2. Option ②: Use the function keys to select the menu icon. Enter the camera’s settings menu and find the “Format Memory Card” option.

Select the “Format” function. The camera will prompt you to choose “Confirm” or “Cancel.” Select “Confirm” and the dash cam will automatically format the card.

Note: Formatting will delete all data on the memory card. Please make sure to transfer and back up any important photos or videos first.

On E2 Pro and E4 models, formatting must be done via the app after connecting to Wi-Fi. In the app, this feature is named “Format Recorder.”

How to Format a Memory Card on a Computer

Insert the memory card into your computer’s card reader. If your computer does not have a built-in card reader, use an external one connected via USB.
Open File Explorer (Windows) or Finder (Mac) and locate the memory card. It should appear as a removable disk.
Right-click the memory card and select “Format” (Windows) or “Erase” (Mac). Alternatively, select the card and click the “Format” (Windows) or “Erase” (Mac) button in the toolbar.
Choose a file system format for the memory card:
1. FAT32 — Recommended for cards 32GB or smaller. Compatible with most devices, but limited to a maximum file size of 4GB.
2. exFAT — Recommended for cards larger than 32GB. Supports larger file sizes but may not be compatible with all devices. (Optional) You can also name your SD card here.
Click “Start” (Windows) or “Erase” (Mac) to begin formatting. This will erase all data on the card, so make sure important files are backed up beforehand.
Wait for the process to finish. This may take a few minutes depending on the size of the card.
Safely eject the memory card from your computer and remove it from the card reader.
