How to Set the Parking Mode/G-Sensor Function & How They Work?
1. How to Set Up Parking Mode
Go to your camera’s Menu Settings and find the Parking Mode option. Select your desired sensitivity level. Default: Off.
For D2 and DL12 Pro
The feature is labeled as "Parking Alert".
For E2 Pro / E4
These models do not have a traditional “Parking Mode” option.
(1) E2 Pro
The parking feature is called Time-Lapse Recording Mode.
Once hardwired correctly and enabled, it records continuously for 24 hours.
This differs from traditional Parking Mode, which records only a short 20-second clip when an impact is detected.
(2) E4
Settings are adjusted through the mobile app after proper hardwire installation.
5G Wi-Fi version: Displays the “Parking Mode” option. When turned on, the camera switches to Parking Time-Lapse Mode after the engine is off. The screen remains off, but a blue LED blinks to indicate recording.
2.4G version: Displays the “Time-Lapse Recording” option. When turned on, the camera records continuously for 24 hours even with the engine off.
How It Works:
When Parking Monitoring Mode is on and an impact is detected, the dash cam automatically records a 20-second video and saves it.
Files are locked in the Front Emergency or Rear Emergency folder and will not be overwritten.
Sensitivity options: Off / Low / Medium / High — the higher the setting, the easier it is to trigger recording.
In Parking Monitoring Mode, the screen stays off during recording but the indicator light flashes. When the camera is on, a recording icon will appear on the screen.
2. How to Set Up G-Sensor (Gravity Sensor)
Go to your camera’s Menu Settings and find the G-Sensor or Sensitivity option. Select your desired sensitivity level. Default: Off.
How It Works:
When in recording mode and G-Sensor is enabled:
If the dash cam detects a collision or sudden braking, it automatically saves a video clip.
Clip length follows your loop recording setting (1 / 2 / 3 minutes).
The clip is saved in the Front Emergency or Rear Emergency folder and will not be overwritten by new files.
Sensitivity options: Off / Low / Medium / High — higher settings make it easier to trigger emergency recording.
3. Conclusion
Hardwire / Parking Monitor (engine off):
- When your vehicle is turned off, the hardwire kit can keep power to the dashcam. If an impact is detected, the dashcam will automatically save/record a short emergency video as evidence (depending on your settings).
G-sensor emergency lock (engine on):
- When your vehicle is running/driving, the dashcam records normally. If the G-sensor detects an impact, it will trigger an emergency recording/lock so the file is protected from being overwritten.
So in simple terms:
- Hardwire monitoring is mainly for when the car is OFF, and
- G-sensor emergency lock is for when the car is ON.
