Why Does the Dashcam Prompt “SD card error”?

1. Check the Memory Card
- Use the right card. Make sure you're using a high-speed microSD card (Class 10 U3 or higher) with a capacity between 16GB and 256GB. Some dash cams are very picky about the card's speed and how it's formatted.
2. Format the Card
On Your Dash Cam
- If you can still access the dash cam's menu, go to: Settings > Format > Confirm.
- Warning: This will erase everything on the card.
On Your Computer
- Use a card reader to plug the memory card into your computer.
- For cards 32GB or smaller: Format the card using the FAT32 file system.
- For cards larger than 32GB: Format the card using the exFAT file system.
- Safely eject the card from your computer and then try putting it back in your dash cam.
3. Check the Card Slot
- Gently blow into the card slot or use a cotton swab to carefully clean it. Dust or debris can sometimes cause a bad connection.
4. Reset Your Device
- If none of the above steps work, try doing a factory reset on your dash cam.
If the problem continues, there might be an internal issue with the camera itself. To help us figure this out, please send us:
- A clear photo of your microSD card.
- A short video or photo of the error message on the screen.
- Your proof of purchase (receipt or invoice).
